Educate! Advocate! Agitate!
National Conference 2025
September 26-28, Vancouver, BC
Educate! Advocate! Agitate!
Get Ready for the Inaugural Lawyers Against Transphobia Conference this Fall!
Join us for a two-and-a-half-day gathering that brings together Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse activists, advocates, legal professionals, organizers, and allies from across the country. More than just a conference, this is a movement-building event where we’ll ignite change, forge powerful connections through bold conversations, share skills through workshops, and a practice of joy-as-resistance.
Together, we’ll shape the future of 2SLGBTQ+ legal rights and stand united against transphobia.
The gathering takes place on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ) peoples, colonially known as Vancouver, BC.
As people planning and organizing against transphobia from across so-called Canada, we have a collective duty and commitment to uphold mutual care and reciprocity with all our relations and to actively support the right to self-determination of Indigenous peoples. In our movement, we consider that interconnected systems of white supremacy, Eurocentrism, settler colonialism, imperialism, and capitalism oppress communities worldwide, spanning Turtle Island to Palestine, Haiti, Congo, Tibet, Sudan, and beyond. We wish to especially acknowledge that the Canadian legal and educational systems we work within are built on and perpetuate settler colonialism and colonial violence both at home and internationally.
